I have a bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in child development.

I have a Masters in Clinical Psychology with specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
I am licensed with the California Board of Behavioral Science. I have over 20 years of experience working in the social services field as well as over 6 years in private practice.
I have taught child development courses at the community college level and developed and directed several early childhood education programs. I co-founded one of the first Post-Partum Doula Services in the Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey tri-state area.
I tailor my counseling and therapy approaches upon the belief that individuals possess the necessary skills to acquire harmony in self, family and community; that this innate drive is unique to a person and a situation while vulnerable to the challenges that are inherent to today's society.

My goal is to assist you in removing any obstacle you are experiencing that inhibits your ability to fully participate and enjoy your life. More specifically I incorporate a systemic approach which emphasizes factors such as relationships and communication patterns rather than traits or symptoms. Additionally, I practice Solution Focused therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. Solution focused therapy is a technique that keeps the focus on the results you want to achieve punctuating the present and the future while helping you use your strengths and resources to recreate the change you desire. CBT is a short-term, goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment that takes a hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving. Its goal is to change patterns of thinking or behavior that are behind people's difficulties, and so change the way they feel.
